Brézème and a diverse Rhône

Lombard is rooted at the heart of the Brézème appellation, a rare and distinctive vineyard nestled in the northern Rhône. Here, the history of this confidential AOP meets a broader vision: bringing emblematic terroirs to life, and sketching the portrait of a captivating diverse Rhône.
A RARE PLACE

Brézème is a confidential gem nestled on the slopes of Livron-sur-Drôme, at the confluence of the Drôme and the Rhône. This rare terroir is shaped by marked relief, plateaus and steep hillsides, and benefits from a singular microclimate between cool winds coming from the Alps and the first Mediterranean influences. A precious balance that defines the identity of its wines.

A HISTORY

Long renowned, then almost lost, the Brézème vineyard is now reclaiming its distinctive place in the Rhône landscape. For Lombard, being rooted here is about more than geography: it means helping to bring a rare and singular vineyard back to life, with respect, ambition and a long-term vision.

GRAPE VARIETIES

Planted mainly to Syrah, Marsanne and Roussanne, Brézème produces subtle wines. The reds reveal fine, silky tannins, always carried by a characteristic freshness. The whites, generous and fruit-driven, offer beautiful mineral tension. Rare and distinctive wines, true to the identity of this confidential appellation.

A DIVERSE RHÔNE

If Brézème is its heart, Lombard also embraces a broader vision of the Rhône Valley. Through its wines and cuvées created in collaboration with committed winegrowers, the estate composes the portrait of a diverse Rhône: a mosaic of terroirs, appellations and expressions, between whites and reds, single-varietals and blends.

“At the heart of our approach is bringing Brézème, a rare and singular vineyard, back to life.”
A CONVICTION

Through Brézème and beyond, Lombard upholds a simple conviction: a wine always tells more than a grape variety or an appellation. It tells of a place, a light, a geography, a memory. To explore this diverse Rhône is to understand that diversity is not dispersion, but richness. A way of embracing the valley in all its nuance.
